How Diet Can Affect Your Health
Sugar comes in so many guises these days it can be difficult to keep up with just what has sugar hidden in it and how much. We are all used to the obvious cakes and biscuits but not so familiar with the less obvious processed meals.
Our Top Tips:
Opt for healthy snacks which include: Cheese, Nuts, Eggs, Fruit (ideally the less acidic fruits are better)
Drink lots of water and aim to avoid fizzy drinks and sugary juices and smoothies
Raw Vegetables; such as peppers, carrots and broccoli (with tasty dips)
Chewing gum after meals helps to neutralise the plaque acid which causes tooth decay by stimulating your saliva
Aim to reduce the amount of starchy foods that you eat as these can increase plaque which in turn decays teeth.
Liquorice root is good as it contains compounds that fight gum disease and tooth decay.
Brush Twice a Day and Floss between your teeth.
Visit your dentist and hygienist regularly.
