What happens at an exam appointment?
Your dental health assessment at Brixworth Dental Practice, Northampton will always involve checking the health of your mouth, your gums and your teeth to ensure there are no underlying problems.
During this visit we use an intra-oral camera to guide you around your mouth so we can both see any problems (if any) and chat about how to solve them. X-Rays are normally taken in order to diagnose any problems that are not visible to the naked eye e.g. beneath fillings, between teeth, the bone and supportive structures and abscesses.
Amongst other things we check the health of your:
- Muscles & Glands
And your Plaque Control and a Basic Periodontal Examination (BPE) is undertaken by your dentist screening for inflammation and indicators of gum disease.
And to do this properly all takes time, which is why at Brixworth Dental Practice, Northampton we allow 20 – 30 minutes with you to do this.
